統計局（とうけいきょく）は、 日本（にほん）の 社会（しゃかい）・ 経済（けいざい）の 変化（へんか）に 的確（てきかく）に 対応（たいおう）しながら、 国（くに）の 重要（じゅうよう）な 統計調査（とうけいちょうさ）を 企画（きかく）・ 立案（りつあん） 及（およ）び 実施（じっし）し、 社会（しゃかい）に役立（やくだ）つ 正確（せいかく）な 統計（とうけい）を 作成（さくせい）・ 提供（ていきょう）しています。
The Statistics Bureau of Japan plans and conducts the important statistical surveys of Japan, and prepares and provides accurate statistics that are beneficial for society, by responding adequately to social and economic changes in our country.
いくつかの 統計調査（とうけいちょうさ）については、 外国人（がいこくじん）居住者（きょじゅうしゃ）の皆様（みなさま）も調査対象（ちょうさたいしょう）になることがあります。
