The Main Points from the Governor’s Message on June 18th, 2021 regarding efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19

A State of Emergency was declared in 10 prefectures including neighboring prefectures Fukuoka and Hiroshima, but with the decreasing number of cases, the state of emergency was lifted on June 21st in all those prefectures except Okinawa.

Yamaguchi Prefecture has been taking ‘Intensive Measures to mitigate spread of COVID-19’ since May 18th, but thanks to the cooperation from our residents, the number of cases have decreased and the hospital bed availability conditions have regained its stability, so as planned the ‘Intensive Measures to mitigate spread of COVID-19’was lifted on June 20th.

I greatly appreciate your cooperation in the intensive measures and apologize for the inconveniences it may have caused.  

However, 10 prefectures including Tokyo and Osaka are still declared as areas Semi-emergency (Coronavirus) Spread Prevention Measures to be taken and there are growing concerns of the variants. Therefore, we ask for your understanding and continued cooperation and not let your guard down to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Hokkaido, Tokyo, Aichi, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Saitama, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Chiba, Kanagawa
