Criteria for Participation

(1) Participants must be over 18 years of age, resident in Japan, be practising Budo with at least the rank of Shodan, and be able to communicate in Japanese or English as these will be the languages in which instruction is given.
(2) Japanese participants should be over 18 years of age, be able to speak English at conversational level, and at least hold the rank of Shodan in a Budo art. In principle he or she should be recommended by an affiliate organisation of the Japanese Budo Association.
(3) In principle, participants should be recommended by the head of their Budo association or club.
