Nepal Relief Funds Delivered to the Red Cross

After the earthquake on April 25th, the Yamaguchi International Exchange Association began collecting donations for the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund.  These donations have now been officially delivered to the Yamaguchi Japanese Red Cross Society.

 

Kiran Pandey, a Nepalese man who was active in collecting donations at the “Aozora Tengoku Ikoi no Hiroba” event at Ishin Memorial Park on May 5th also took part in the delivery ceremony.

 

The funds that were collected will go to support and recovery efforts in Nepal through the Yamaguchi Japanese Red Cross Society. We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who gave their support.

About the Ceremony

At ten o’clock on the morning of Tuesday, June 9th, 2015, Shigeharu Kimura, the managing director of the YIEA and Kiran Pandey, a student at the United Graduate School of Veterinary Science Yamaguchi University, went to the Yamaguchi Japanese Red Cross Society to deliver your donations. Kunio Takagi, director of the Yamaguchi Japanese Red Cross Society was there to greet them and receive the collected funds.

 

About the Fundraising Efforts

Donations were collected from Thursday, April 30th, 2015 to Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015. Collection boxes were available at the YIEA, Yamaguchi Prefectural Office, and 7 Sogochosha Government Buildings throughout Yamaguchi
