- Notice
The number of people infected with COVID-19 has been increasing rapidly nationwide due to the impact of the highly infectious Omicron variant.
Infection rates have also kept rising in Yamaguchi Prefecture, specially in Iwakuni City. On January 6, the number of people infected per day reached a record high of 181. Given these circumstances, we have requested the central government to declare a Quasi-State of Emergency in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Today, the national government has decided to apply the Quasi-State of Emergency in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and we have decided to implement our own “Intensive Measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with the application of the Quasi-State of Emergency in Yamaguchi Prefecture”.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to residents and businesses in the prefecture, but given the extremely high infection rates of the Omicron variant, we ask for your understanding and cooperation in stopping the further spread of COVID-19 in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
