The number of people infected with COVID-19 has been increasing rapidly nationwide due to the impact of the highly infectious Omicron variant. And since January 9th, Yamaguchi Prefecture has been taking intensive measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and restaurants have been shortening their business hours in accordance with the application of the Quasi-State of Emergency,
Because of the cooperation from the residents and businesses of this prefecture, the number of new cases has been decreasing for the past two weeks since its peak on January 27th with 445 cases, the utilization rate of hospital beds has improved, and the strain on the health care system has reduced.
For this reason, the central government has decided to lift the Quasi-State of Emergency that has been applied to Yamaguchi Prefecture on February 20th, as scheduled.
However, since the number of new cases is still high nationwide and there are concerns about the impact on this prefecture, we would like to ask for the understanding and cooperation of all residents and businesses in Yamaguchi in continuing to take measures to prevent the spread of the virus, even after the Quasi-State of Emergency that has been lifted.
◆To prevent the further spread of COVID-19(Request to the residents of Yamaguchi Prefecture)
