Disaster Prevention Workshop for Foreign Residents was held!

On March 12th (Sun), we co-sponsored with Yamaguchi City to hold a “Disaster Prevention Workshop for Foreign Residents” at the Ogori Fureai Center. 32 people from 7 countries from Yamaguchi, Ube and Hofu City were participated.
In the workshop, we held a disaster prevention lecture in two languages, Easy Japanese and English, 119 call training, a fire extinguisher and an earthquake simulation car experience. It was impressive to see the participants listening intently to the lecture and actively participating in the experiences. In the earthquake simulation, they experienced the seismic intensity of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and they were very surprised by the strong shaking. Finally, we introduced disaster prevention goods, and everyone was very curious by taking pictures of goods, etc.
In the participants’ questionnaires, we received feedback such as “I learned a lot about how to save myself and my family in the event of a disaster”, “I think it is really useful because there are few disasters in my home country and there is no disaster prevention workshop” and so on.
We hope that everyone who participated in the workshop will continue to be interested in disaster prevention so that they will be able to protect their own lives in the event of a disaster or emergency.
